Good morning, hi, hello there.
You know how we all have something we generally don’t like about ourselves? For some it may be their bodies or their hair, for others it may be their inability to do math on the fly. My self pet hate is my ability to ignore myself.
I know I’m not alone here.
I ignore myself and my love for writing words on the pages of this blog far more than I let myself indulge. It’s madness really, isn’t it? If this is important to me, I should make it a priority.
While I have a long list of blog posts waiting to be shared, I thought I’d take stock of my life at this moment and do a ‘Currently’ post. A few of my friends do these (namely Cindy at 3 Kids 2 Dogs and 1 Old House and Zayaan at Surviving The Madness) and they seem like a great way to get back to reality.
Plus they’re easy to knock out so that’s a plus. Let’s get into it shall we?
I don’t watch as much series as I used to thanks to never being able to decide what I want to spend my time on. I work and watch series in the background, but then I want to spend time with my husband and maybe game, but also read a book, and ooh! How about taking a nap!?
Basically I’m awful at managing my own down time so I’ve taken to pretty much only watching series while working. Thank the Lord for Netflix and the fact that it keeps track of the madness for me.
I’m currently watching Gossip Girl and I’m loving the teen drama so hard, you guys.
I know. Gossip Girl. It’s so old, it’s almost irrelevant (lol never), but I somehow missed the start of this show as a teenager and I decided to watch one episode recently. Now I’m 5 seasons in and I don’t want it to end. Oh well.
Currently: Reading (& Looking Forward To)
As much as I love teen drama shows (I’m looking at you Teen Wolf and Gilmore Girls), I’m a huge fan of YA novels. I could read a good fantasy YA novel all day long and never feel remotely bad.
I’m currently reading Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas.
I’m a big fan of the lovely SJ Maas and I’ve read many of her books. Basically she’s awesome, but I’m struggling to make it through this section of the Throne of Glass series, but it’s only my own fault.
I’m currently looking forward to the newest addition to another Sarah J. Maas series, A Court of Wings and Ruin.
It feels like Zayaan and I have been waiting for this book to drop for years. It’s been much less than that, but the need to read is real, y’all! Basically I can’t wait for the arrival of this new book in May 2017 and it’s making it hard to read anything else right now.
One of the main issues I’ve had with working from home over the last year and a half has been dealing with cabin fever. While I’m the first to admit that I’m not a fan of social interaction and prefer my pets to humans, even I need to feel the fresh air on my face at times, you know?
Thanks to my laptop swan diving out of this life into the next, I was bound to my desktop PC and it started driving me a little insane. I decided to take the leap and purchase myself a new laptop to aid in my stepping out of the house at times. After much research and testing, I bought an Acer Chromebook 14 and I’m loving it.
It’s taken some adjustment and a little wrangling, but it’s pretty much perfect and suits my needs.

Along with my new (beautiful) Chromebook, my other current love is the Taxify service. As one of the few human beings that chooses not to drive (because I’m the worst – heh), Taxify is my saving grace.
If you don’t know about the Taxify service (it’s basically a cheaper version of Uber), read my Taxify vs Uber in South Africa blog post.
So that’s me, folks. It’s 2am on a Saturday morning and I feel better for getting this out. Thanks for reading.
