New Experience: First full-body massage

Starting the year in the way I plan to continue it, I visited Sorbet for my first ever full-body massage.

Full-body massage experience

Let me start off by saying hi and welcome to 2017! It took me a little while to get back into the swing of blogging again, but I’m back and let’s get started.

New Year’s Resolutions are not something I tend to sign up for every year. I love that the New Year is a great time to take a look at the last year and perhaps make changes, but I don’t think that New Year’s Resolutions work. Not for me at least. I did however take a step back, look back over 2015 and 2016 and decide that a few changes need to be made in order for 2017 to be the best year I can possibly make it.

Treat yo’self with Body Treats this Christmas!

Body Treats on Uphill Writer

Hi. My name is Robyn and I love bathing.

Like, I really love bathing. More than I enjoy doing many other things. I’d choose a soak in a beautiful bath tub over chocolate any day of the week – Hands down, no competition. I’m serious about this, you guys.

If you’re a fan of immersing yourself in a tub of hot water surrounded by candles and uplifting smells, you’ll probably think of Lush before any other company. I’m not any different and my family knows that if you hand me a bag of Lush bath bombs, I’ll pretty much be your slave.

I’m also a big believer in treating yourself. It’s so important and I realise that water restrictions make a shower more viable, but every now and then, you need to “treat yo’self!”

Bringing memories to life with PrintWild

I have a confession to make, you guys. I work a lot and I’m also a serial procrastinator. It’s probably one of the reasons that I’ve been married for 3 years and up until recently, I hadn’t printed a single photo of my wedding for my own home. I don’t know how or why, it just hadn’t happened.

That’s why, when PrintWild.co.za contacted me via Instagram and wanted to give me a little gift, I couldn’t say no.

Photos and memories with Printwild

(Actually, the lovely folks from PrintWild contacted me via Pixel and Pip’s Instagram account! Who would’ve thought the little rascals would grab so much attention.)

Like I said, I couldn’t resist when PrintWild sent through a little gift that meant I could print photos for my home. I had a choice of their products and I grabbed the opportunity to print a few Faceblocks. I was able to print 7 Faceblocks in fact and I love them.

Taxify vs Uber in South Africa

A review of the Taxify vs Uber services in South Africa, and how they differ.

Taxify vs UberNote: This post is not sponsored. I just wanted to share my thoughts.

A little-known fact about me is that I don’t drive. I’m a fully-grown adult and while I can drive, I don’t have my license. I know some people find it insane, but I’ve never had the urge to be a driver and I’ve never had the need to do so. Before I worked from home with Inkfish Digital, I used public transport to and from town. Easy, peasy.

Of course, there are times when I need to get around without the help of public transport and when my darling husband is at work. It’s moments like that when the Taxify and Uber services are my best friends. In fact, it’s become a family joke that I’ll request an Uber at the drop of a hat.

While Uber is the most popular taxi choice at the moment, there’s another service that is starting to make a name for itself in South Africa, and in my case, Cape Town. Taxify is still fairly new here in South Africa, but it’s quickly growing in popularity. I’ve used both of these services and I’ve decided to chat about them both in the post below.

I’ve come to realise that I may have a little problem when it comes to collecting things. No, I’m talking about Pokemon (yet), I mean phone covers.

If there’s one thing I love more than cows (and I adore cows), it’s finding a new phone cover for my beloved mobile device. I know, it’s random, but at least it’s not drugs, right? Right. It’s because of this love for phone covers, I couldn’t help but sit up a little straighter with stars in my eyes when an Internet friend of mine announced that he was launching Zero Covers, an online store that sells minimalist covers for your phone.
